Metka Mencin je docentka za socialno psihologijo, predavateljica in raziskovalka na Fakulteti za družbene vede Univerze v Ljubljani. Njen osrednji raziskovalni interes je konstrukcija stigmatiziranih identitet in reprodukcija oblastnih razmerij znotraj znanosti, v psihologiji, izobraževanju, državnih politikah in vsakdanjih govorih. Je soavtorica več monografij ter avtorica številnih znanstvenih, strokovnih in poljudnih člankov. Bila je poslanka v prvem sklicu slovenskega parlamenta, že prej se je borila za pravice žensk, za vpis 55. člena o svobodnem odločanju o rojstvu otrok v slovensko ustavo. Če bi parlament junija 1991 sprejel njen amandma, se ne bi zgodili izbrisani.

Metka Mencin is an assistant professor of social psychology, lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana. Her central research interest is the construction of stigmatised identities and the reproduction of power relations within science, in psychology, education, state policies, and everyday discourse. She is the co-author of several monographs and the author of numerous scientific, professional and popular articles. She was a member of the first convocation of the Slovene parliament, having previously fought for women’s rights, for the entry of Article 55 on free decision-making on the birth of children in the Slovene constitution. If Parliament had passed her proposed amendment in June 1991, The Erased would not have happened.
